Elite Sport Training in Upper Secondary Education - Models for Sportive Success

Prof. Rolf Carlson, School of Sport and Health Sciences (GIH) Sweden, has recieved a research grant concerning "Elite Sport Training in Upper Secondary Education - Models for Sportive Success" from The Swedish Institute in Stockholm regarding a joint effort between GIH, Latvian Academy of Sport Education (LASE), Russian State University of Physical Education and Health (RSUPE), Belarussian State University of Physical Culture (Minsk) and Faculty of Physical Education and Sport in Biala Podlaska (Polen). The purpose of the project is to analyse combination standards for high level training and education in upper secondary schools in the participating countries with a focus on creating a system to benefit all participating countries. Target groups are talented youth and coaches/teachers. Coordinator from Latvia and The Baltic Sea Region will be prof. Juris Grants.

At the end of summer in Madona Smeceres Sils from September 5 to September 12 already the third time by Latvian Academy of Sport Education and Latvian Association of Recreation Education was organized International Summer School. Professor J. Grants, associated professor I. Kravalis, assistant professor. I. Bula-Biteniece, lecturer. I. Smukā un assistant K. Ciekurs together with partner universities from Poland (Josef Pilsudski University of Physical Education in Warsaw and the College of Computer Science and Business Administration in Lomža, associated professor K. Piech and associated professor A. Litwiniuk), Sweden (Swedish School of Sport and Health Science, professor J. Nilsson, and Mg.Art. E. Kraepelien Strid) Spain (Universidad de Málaga, associated professior O.Romero Ramos). International summer school aims at promoting non-formal education, on equal basis in educational process involving both students and teachers, promoting the development of student and lecturer professional competences.

REGULATION

1. The aim of student scientific conference is to promote the formation of all-sided creative young sport education specialists, who has mastered not only several study courses, but has developed first scientific research skills, can summarize the sources of scientific literature, conduct research, analyze and draw conclusions, raise awareness about the relations between theory and practice. With student scientific creativity is strengthened the link between studies and research work.
2. LSPA 64rd Student Scientific Conference will be held on 05.04.2012 from 12:00 to15:00 in Conference hall of LSPA in the framework of LSPA Day of Science.
3. The title of the presentations of Student Scientific Conference with the names and surnames of the author and supervisor, as well as the abstract should be submitted (electronically) up to 02.04.2012 to the Secretary of the Steering Committee of LSPA 64rd Student Scientific Conference Krišjānis Kuplis, phone: +37126496936, e-mail: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. 4. The Schedule of Student Scientific Conference:
12:00 – 13:30 presentations of the participants 
13:30 – 14:15 viewing of the poster presentations and short author presentation
14:25 – 14:45 summarizing of the results and awarding bonuses to the authors of best presentations
